Match Report: UEA II rolled into Stalham on the back of some strong victories and were looking to establish themselves early against a team they had destroyed by 40 points in the first rounds of the season. UEA didn’t disappoint and finished the 1st quarter with a 29-12 lead on the back of quick fast breaks and some aggressive defense in the paint. Unfortunately the away team’s defensive prowess deserted them and, combined with overzealous refereeing, led to Stalham getting back into the game at the halftime break. UEA switched up their defense several times in an effort to stop Stalham’s main offensive threat, and were able to hold him at bay for most of the second half, leading to UEA pulling away into the lead again. The game ended up as a comfortable victory for the visitors but the game took its toll as three UEA players came away with injuries. The Easter break will be a welcome recuperation period for UEA to prepare for the final push to the second division title.
